Q: What do I need to get onto InfiNex?
A: You need a computer with access to the Internet or the Schwan network, a Schwan employee ID, and a recent web browser. The InfiNex system and online courses work best with a 56.6K modem or faster connection. People using a dial-up connection may not be satisfied with the performance of online courses.

Q: I was able to register for an online course, but I can't launch the course. (If you are using audio on your computer, you may hear a 'popping' noise.)
A: Check to see if you have an "ad-blocker" program running on your computer. Typically you can locate the ad-blocker icon in the lower right corner of your screen. If so, temporarily disable the ad-blocker program from the tray. If you are unsure of how to disable your ad-blocker, contact a local technician.
Q: I have a Netscape web browser and my computer just sits at the "Loading, please wait…" screen when I attempt to launch a course, and nothing else happens.
A: SkillSoft courses also work on older versions of Netscape Navigator, but version 6.2 is not supported. Use a previous version, such as Netscape 4.x.
Q: I click on "Play this course" for a SkillSoft online course and it hangs on "Loading please wait."
A: This is caused when Java is not capable of launching the self-executing applet that brings down the player and runs the course. Java is being blocked or filtered from playing through the browser. Please contact SkillSoft at 866-276-8310 for assistance with SkillSoft courses.
